there and back

6 people, 5 seats, 4 young children, 3 days to get home, 2 adults, 1 connection

Our flight to D.C. was delayed slightly, so we got in a bit later than expected our first day but excited to be there!

Our travel home was an adventure!
Our luggage made it back to Fort Lauderdale Monday on the scheduled flight, but because of weather and delayed flights we had to spend the night in Atlanta.

We spent most of the next day in the airport lounge, playing games, watching movies, watching planes take off and land, riding the train between terminals, and letting Asher clean the airport chairs with hand sanitizer and wet wipes!
The children did very well!  But our flight was again delayed and then cancelled and we were again given a hotel voucher for another night!

Finally, Wednesday morning,
we flew safely home with seats in first class!

Metro, Union Station & Chinatown

After the Zoo, we took the Metro
"red line" to Union Station.  The Metro is a clean and easy, underground train, way to get around D.C. and was a fun experience for the children, but we used Uber/taxi's for most of our trip.
After a late lunch in Union Station, we rode the Metro to Chinatown.

We walked around some, saw dumplings and noodles being made from a restaurant window and got a Bubble Tea!
