When I saw my friend Rosa was going to do a photo-a-day for April, I thought it would be fun to do together and a way to share pictures on Facebook
(which I usually don't do because I put them all here!).
Pictures were all taken with my phone, using Instagram,
and it was a great way to be creative and to capture a moment in each day!
I used this list:

Tea Party

Saturday, Abigail and I went to a Mad Hatter's (Alice in Wonderland) Tea Party!
We sipped tea and lemondae and ate finger sandwiches, cookies and cakes.
We saw Alice and the Queen of Hearts.  We wore our big hats and flower dresses
(Abigail asked me to keep mine so she could wear it when she is bigger!).
The event was outdoors under canopies at the Stranahan house
(the historical home of the first settlers of Fort Lauderdale) and we also
took a tour of the house/museum and walked along the riverwalk. It was great girl time!

Week of Miss H

Hadassah is funny!  She loves to make us laugh and will do silly things and wait for us to notice and laugh with her!  And then do it again....and again!
  very interested in the stairs

Corban and Abigail were doing a YogaKids video and Hadassah wanted to join in!

Later that day, she pulled the silphat's out of the kitchen, spread them on the floor and started stretching on those too!

Corban had asked a few times if Hadassah could sleep with him, so one night Chris set up her pack'n'play in his room.  Corban was so excited and even moved himself to a pallet on the floor to be closer to his little sister!

Metamorphosis

A couple weeks ago a jar with our 5 caterpillars arrived in the mail! We checked on them daily and every few days Corban and Abigail would dictate and draw
what they saw.
Then one day, 3 of the caterpillars attached themselves to the top of the jar and began to change into their chrysalis (the other 2 did the same on bottom of jar)

We waited a couple days and then I carefully moved them to the larger butterfly home.  We waited, and checked, and continued to draw/write what we saw.

While we waited, Corban and Abigail watched and cared for electronic caterpillars/butterflies:

Then, one day we woke to find one Painted Lady butterfly had emerged overnight!

And that afternoon, we watched as the second climbed out of its cocoon and gently opened its wings for the first time!
After a few days (we fed them sugar water), we released the butterflies into our yard

During the week, we got lots of books from the library to read about butterflies!

We ate butterfly shaped food,

 drew butterflies,

and learned about the life cycle:

As Corban and Abigail studied butterflies for the letter B,
Hadassah started saying "Ball" and "Book"!

and we made Mother's Day cards!
