August school

This month in History we studied the Vikings (Eric the Red and Lief Ericsson) and Christopher Columbus.

The children built their own models of the Nina, the Pinta, and the Santa Maria to sail across the pool (Atlantic Ocean).  The ships made it across but the sails all capsized on the voyage!
In Bible we talked about the meanings and importance of names.
As a family, we read Dandelion Wine

August dates

Abigail and Daddy breakfast date
Daddy and Abigail went out for breakfast together at Panera.  They brought along a game to play while they ate and had a great morning together!
Hadassah and Mommy coffee and game date
Hadassah insisted on wearing her ballet leotard because that would be "fancy."
And she convinced me that she needed a pink cake pop to go with her "cold chocolate"!
we brought Spot it and Memory to play together

Corban and Mommy
date to the
Plantation Mother & Son Hoedown

We ate snacks and dinner,
did the chicken dance,
played with balloons
and Corban had fun at the boys activities!

We made the front page of our local paper!

We went to another delicious demonstration dinner with wine tasting at Publix Aprons.

With the Sarah and James, we went to Qquest
(a room escape game where we had to find clues and solve riddles to work our way out!).
None of us knew what to expect, but we solved the game in record time and
had so much fun we are going back to do another room this week!
