Italy to back home

We had gelato at least once every day and tried so many flavors!

Asher had cheese pizza every day!

quick bite in the lounge before our flight

the flight home felt much longer because it was all daylight - but we were served food several times and had many movies/music/games to choose from (just not much sleep!)

Pantheon

The Pantheon is famous for its dome with a hole in the center.  It was originally a Roman temple, but became a Catholic Church (Basilica of St. Mary and the Martyrs) in 609 AD, which is why it was allowed to be preserved so well (while other pagan temples were destroyed)
We were not planning to tour, but when we walked by one day Hadassah excitedly pointed to it and said, "The Pantheon, I wrote a paper on it this year!" and so we went back on our last day in Rome and did a self-guided, audio tour.

Family Pictures in Rome

Our last morning in Rome, we scheduled a photographer for a family photo session.  It was an early morning, but beautiful to walk back through areas we had been the day before but now much cooler and less crowded!

Corban recognized Trajan's Column as we walked back -
commemorating Trajan's battle victories, and hollow inside but only opened for special people to walk inside
