Morning with OCC

Saturday morning we went, with our small group, to volunteer with Orlando Children's Church. They have bus's that pick up children from inner city Orlando and bring them together for a free breakfast, fun/games, and then "Sunday school" type time. We helped sort clothing donations and hung out with some of the students.

Trip to the dentist

Chris and I had our dental cleanings this morning, so Corban came along to see what the dentist office is all about. He had fun showing his teeth, brushing some play teeth and then watching while we had ours cleaned!

A horse and his boy

Caleb came back home today...Xena went into heat so it wasn't a good time to try out the dogs living together. We were all really excited to have him home, especially Corban!! I'm not sure how thrilled Caleb was to have Corban following him around all day, but he was very patient and I think they had fun together.

Baby Shower!

Today was my baby shower and it was such a special time! There was lots of good food, fun games, generous gifts, and great girl time. I definitely felt showered with love and excitement for baby Pendrak! Thank you to everyone that was able to come and especially the "Shock ladies" for making it such a wonderful celebration.

Caleb the Loyal

For the last several months we have talked a lot about what would be best for Caleb, how we could better take care of him, considering all different options. We do take good care of him but also recognize that we aren't able to offer him the time and attention that we want (and know he craves) and that is just going to be more difficult with another baby.
Last week, I sent an email to the couple that own the female (Xena) that Caleb bred with around the time that we got married, to see what their thoughts were on "adopting" Caleb. It was a very difficult email to write....but what was encouraging was their enthusiastic response. They have 2 great danes now, both females, Xena and Makeda who is one of the puppies (well, she's full grown now) from that litter (so Caleb and Xena's daughter).
Today we brought Caleb over to their house for a trial time of a few weeks to see how everything works out for everyone. There have been a lot of tears today and it's a really hard decision for us, but we want to do what would truly be best for Caleb and for our family.

Girls Night Out

Last night all the girls in our bible study ("connect group" in Summit lingo) went to a chocolate factory!

We had so much fun getting to make our own chocolate cups, molds, truffles, anything you can imagine covered in chocolate!

Chris Pendrak, CFA

Chris found out today that he passed the
Level 3 CFA exam!!
Woohoo!!!!
This means he has completed the requirements and is now a Chartered Financial Analyst! We are so excited! The pass rate for this exam was 50% and fewer than 6% pass all three levels on their first attempt (which Chris did!)!!

Baby Pendrak

I had another sonogram today, they wanted to check baby's position, and we got some new 3D/4D pictures of our baby girl! It was lots of fun to watch her moving around (sticking her tongue out and grabbing her toes with her fingers) and good to find out that everything looks great!

Potty time and yard work

Today was day 3 of intensive potty training with lots of "special treats," big boy pants, and watching Cars. For the last few days Corban and I have stayed at home (other than a walk to the mailbox) so that we are always very close to the potty. Needless to say we are feeling a bit stir-crazy (did I mention he didn't take a nap the last two days?!), so whether we are totally ready or not tomorrow we are planning on getting out of the house some.
But we have had some excitement to watch while we've been home, we are having yard work done and they've been busy with that outside. We are having an irrigation system put in all over, some trees removed, and new sod put down in the back yard. They should be done tomorrow but here are a few before/during pictures.

Granny's 80th Birthday

Saturday we headed down to Avon Park to pick up Corban and for a surprise party for Granny's 80th birthday. Michael and Jenn rode with us, so we had fun together, and the birthday celebration was at Katie's family reunion so we all enjoyed a day at the park!

The Pendrak brothers and their pregnant wives (and the back of Corban's head)!

Fun Day!

Corban had his first night away from Mommy and Daddy last Friday. We met Chris's parents near Disney for the switch and Corban went with them down to Avon Park for the day and got to spend the night in a "train" (their RV)! He did super and had fun being spoiled!
Chris and I had a great time and really enjoyed our day together! We had lunch at Fuddruckers (and played Ms. Pack-man), went to some stores (played a game of checkers outside Bass Pro--I won!), had a blast playing putt-putt golf at Congo River (Chris won but I got the only hole-in-one!), had dinner at Outback and then went to see The Dark Knight. We walked into the movie expecting to be a little disappointed by all the hype, especially around the Heath Ledger/Joker character, but he was amazing (scary!) in that role and we'd definitely recommend you go see it!

Be patient

We are experiencing some picture difficulties, and since I'm such a visual person who loves pictures I haven't been writing until we get the camera able to upload pics again. Maybe sometime this weekend! But a friend shared with me a great site so that I could update the blog background from a stock choice to something a bit more fun, so that's the big change for now.

More fun at the pool

It was a beautiful, sunny afternoon so we headed to the pool and had fun as a family splashing around!
