Smiles and Sillies

March Dates

Hadassah and Mommy's fancy dress, animals, dancing and ice cream date!
Hadassah wasn't feeling well the day we were originally going to go on our date and in the waiting she became more specific on what she thought our date should be.
She wanted us to wear fancy dresses, go dancing and see animals!
Hadassah wore a new dress and we walked on Las Olas
(with some twirling, jumping and dancing!),
spotting lots of animals along the way,

and then I surprised her by taking her to Kilwins for ice cream!

Corban and Daddy symphony date

Tales and Tails by Symphony of the Americas was a family performance.  They opened with introductions to each of the orchestra sections, played short pieces by each instrument to hear the different sounds of each, and then included several animal themed pieces.  ("Conversations of Beauty and the Beast", "The Elephant" and "On the Trail".)

Corban enjoyed the music and it was designed as a great teaching time
for young students to learn about the orchestra!
After the concert, the musicians had an instrument "petting zoo" where children could try the instruments!  Corban tried the violin and they guided his hands to play Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.

Abigail and Mommy went to the
a mommy/daughter tea party
(hosted by her ballet studio
for our date.
We went last year and again had a special time together!

She insisted we both wear our hair in a bun.

more March pics

These two are great friends!  At bedtime most evenings, I will lay Asher next to Hadassah, in her bed, and they both love to cuddle and giggle together in that time.
Oh, the adventures and giggles these two will share!

China

in science Corban studied oceans
and the girls put together our ocean puzzle one afternoon
 instead of making Chinese food,
we got take out and ate picnic style while we watched a movie
Over the two weeks the children looked at/read several books on (or set in) China,
watched a few documentary/travel shows on China and
we also watched Kung Fu Panda (1 and 2) and Mulan.

On our last day "in" China, we had tea using the lovely tea set that a my friend, Rosa, gave me in college after she visited China!
