Ahhh, Naples

While in Naples, we went to the Botanical Gardens both Saturday and Sunday.
It is a beautiful garden and a great place for the children to play.

Father's Day Weekend

Saturday morning, Chris told me to pack a bag for everyone overnight
and then surprised us with a trip to Naples for the weekend!  It was such a nice getaway to relax and play together as a family!
We collected shells at sunset on the beach
and celebrated the BEST DADDY on Father's day!

Granddaddy and Granny Moseley

In just a few short weeks of one another, Chris's Granddaddy (May 25) and Granny (June 17) have both passed away.

Granddaddy's funeral service was on June 9th and it was the first time that the children and I had ever seen a military funeral, with bugle played and then the flag that had been draped across his casket folded.  It was a beautiful tribute, especially as the young man in army uniform bowed to speak with, thank, and present the flag to Chris's uncle.
Granny was in Oklahoma with her children, as her own health has been deteriorating.  She was a woman of grace and we will be going back to Avon Park this weekend for her funeral.

Chris wrote this essay about his Granddaddy as his hero in elementary school:
