August dates

Corban and Daddy went on a super fun Father/Son weekend at Kanaukuk Kamps!

Abigail, Hadassah and Mommy did our date together this month!  We went to Target together where the girls got matching swimsuits and mermaid tail cover-ups and picked out a few things for a friend that is sick.  Then we went to get ice cream- we went to a nitrogen ice cream shop and got to watch them mix together all the ingredients and then freeze to make ice cream.  It was delicious!

Asher and Daddy ran an errand together and then came home to watch.... together (and Asher got ... pennies!)

Kanakuk Father/Son Retreat

Ready to go! Daddy and Corban flew from Fort Lauderdale to Arkansas with another dad and his 2 boys (and then another father/son friend met them at kamp for the weekend).  

As they flew over Cape Canaveral area they saw a rocket launch!

They spent the first night at a lake house and enjoyed the afternoon tubing on the lake!

After the retreat ended, the guys had a little time before they needed to catch their flight home and decided to go go-karting!

Swimming and Diving

The last week of July, Corban and Hadassah did a trial week with the Plantation Swim Team.  Corban really enjoyed and has decided to continue practicing with the team!  His practices are offered every weekday from 5-6:30 and he goes 3-4 times a week.

Hadassah decided she would like to try dive lessons for August, which meets Tuesday and Thursday from 5-5:45.  We signed Asher up for the same group with Hadassah (he was hesitant at first but liked the lessons by the end).  

Hadassah has really liked diving and will continue with her lessons.

so all the children have had fun jumping off the boards!

August school

1st Day of School!

Corban

8th grade

9th grade Equip classes (meets on Thursday)- Cultural Geography, Life Science B, Writing/Grammar, and Literature

Independently, Corban will be doing Geometry and continuing Latin III

Abigail

5th grade

5th grade Equip classes (meets on Wednesday)- Saxon 4/5 Math, Literature, Writing/Grammar, Rotating class (8 weeks each on Geography, Science, History, and Art)

Hadassah

3rd grade

Hadassah will be working through Classical Conversations Cycle 1 at home with Mommy. 
She is also using Horizons 3 Math, Spelling Workout C, Language Lessons 3, and A Reason for Handwriting T (cursive verse portion). 
She is completing Explode the Code 7 and Pathway reader/workbook from end of last year. 

Asher

Kindergarten

Asher will be using My Father's World 1st grade for Bible, Reading/Phonics, Handwriting and Science.

He will also go through the CC material as Mommy is teaching/reviewing with Hadassah.  He is using Horizons Math K, A reason for Handwriting A, and Explode the Code 1. 

 Hadassah and Asher are doing SAINTS P.E. program on Monday afternoons!
