June dates

Abigail and Mommy flashlight date

After bedtime one night, I got Abigail up and we went on a nighttime walk in our neighborhood with flashlights.  She talked the whole way, we looked at stars and saw lots of toads!

Corban and Mommy ice skating date

silly pictures together before we left

Abigail had told Corban how much fun she had on her ice skating date and Corban loves doing "cold" things so he was super excited!
He did great and had lots of fun.  After we finished, we warmed up with hot chocolate!

Hadassah and Daddy breakfast date

Hadassah is usually the first one up in the morning, so they went on their date to breakfast at Chick-fil-a together before Daddy went to work one morning!

Happy Daddy's Day!

We gave Corban a remote control monster truck for being a Memory Master for all 3 cycles!

Corban came up with his own recipe for a "grubby wubby" which included kiwi, whip cream and cinnamon (ground and sticks) and was made in the shape of a caterpillar.  He wrote out ingredients and steps and we made for dessert!

Hadassah's haircut

Hadassah got her first haircut!
It was just a small trim across the back and she doesn't even know it happened (she watched a movie while Mommy played with her hair!).

trees

We have a beautiful Royal Poinciana tree in front of our house!
It is in full bloom right now and we can see our tree from the end of the street with its bright orange blooms.

We are starting to eat fruit from our mango tree!
We have a slack line and a climbing rope for the children to play on
at home or we can bring to the park!

camps

June 2-4, I went to the Classical Conversations Parent Practicum for our area.  It was a great informational time, both for a big picture of CC and homeschooling,  and also to focus this year on the Rhetoric stage of a
classical education.
While I was in my class, the children had a great time at their camps!
Corban was in Geography-Drawing camp, Abigail and Hadassah were together in Play camp, and Asher was in the Nursery.
The next two weeks, Corban, Abigail and Hadassah went to Summersational!
Corban and Abigail have gone the last two years (2012, 2013) and Hadassah excitedly joined them this year!  Corban and Abigail went 5 days a week and Hadassah went MWF.
Chris dropped everyone off on his way to work and I picked everyone up at 12:30.  The first week's theme was Wet and Wild: Water and Wild Creatures
(Corban and Abigail's classes had a water playday one afternoon)
and the second week was Jeepers Creepers: Animals & Insects
(one day a zoo came with animals for the children to see and learn about!).
They all had a GREAT time! Lots of stories and playing, art and singing, fun and friends!
Corban was chosen as Camper of the Week from the 2-6 grade group!

His teachers said, "Corban has been a joyful leader and a great example to others.  He follows directions the first time they're given, he pays close attention during lessons, he is kind and respectful, and he's always eager to hold the door for others."
