Beach Life

Fort Lauderdale is beautiful! We love living close to the beach (only 10 minutes!), the palm trees, and the breezy, warm weather. The last two Saturdays we have gone to the beach and Corban and Abigail both love playing in the ocean and the sand!

Funny Guy

Corban can always make us laugh (which can make discipline difficult sometimes!), is very creative and active but also very gentle and loving (at least 10 times a day he tells me "I love you, Mama!).

As we were packing he saw the animal costumes (these are both to small for him) and became an elephant/monkey, which he said was "so silly!"

Fort Lauderdale updates from Corban:

There is a playground with a train!

we have stairs!

I got a new "big boy" car seat!

ice cream is a yummy special treat

I look like an avocado!

Little Lady

Abigail is walking everywhere now, her 6th tooth is coming in,
and says "juice," "shoes," and "uh-oh." Corban is convinced that she calls him "Cor" but I haven't heard it yet!
She is such a sweet little girl who loves to giggle and snuggle and, for now, is completely Mama's girl (she does fine with everyone else as long as she just doesn't see me!).

Moving can really wear a girl out!

James Andrew Werneke

On October 15th my Grandpa Werneke passed away. He was a great man - strong and hardworking - with a big heart that loved generously. Grandpa was a significant part of my life and I have many sweet memories of time spent together. Corban's middle name is James after his Great-Grandpa (and PaPa).
We went to Missouri for the funeral and while it was certainly a sad time, it was also good time together as family.

Turn! Turn! Turn!

Wow! What a busy month it has been for us, filled with lots of changes and excitement!
We have moved from Orlando down to Fort Lauderdale, with Chris accepting a position with Merrill Lynch.
It was exactly 3 weeks from when Chris accepted the job offer until we were unpacking our things in our new home in Ft. Lauderdale! But everything has fallen into place, with confirmations along the way that this is the right next step for us, and so far the transition is all going really well and Chris has enjoyed his first week in his new position. Fort Lauderdale is beautiful, and we live within 10 minutes of the beach and Chris's office.
During those few weeks we also spent 5 days in Missouri with family, went to Fort Lauderdale for a house-hunting/get to know the area trip, boxed and packed all of our belongings, said good-byes, and loaded up the moving truck (with alot of help from some amazing friends!).
