July 25, 2010

Saturday evening Chris and I went out to dinner on Las Olas and Sunday we spent the day together as a family celebrating our marriage, family, and five years!

"I Neked"

This is how we found Abigail after "nap" time the other day...
she had stripped down to her diaper, climbed up into her bathroom sink and was taking a bath! Which was a bit funny that time, but not the two more times she tried to do it again over the next couple days.
Also, Abigail is still potty training and has started to take off her diaper (and throw it in the trash!) when its dirty or if she needs to go to the bathroom. Which sounds good, except that this too is usually during nap time which means that when she is found streaking around her room ("I neked, I neked!!"), I am left to wonder about the fecal content in the children's room as I wipe down everything with Lysol!

Underwater

Week 2 of swimming lessons and Corban did GREAT!
He had a fun swimming every morning and really improved his stroke and breathing.

We will still need to keep practicing but Corban can swim across the pool in both freestyle and backstroke!

Sunday we drove up to Avon Park for the afternoon to have a big family lunch, celebrate the July 8th boys, visit Aunt Jackie and take a swim!

CP and A2

Freestyle

This week and next Corban is taking swim lessons every morning at the Aquatic Complex/Swimming Hall of Fame. He is the youngest in his Level 2 class, but likes Coach John, is doing a great job, being challenged and having lots of fun! They are working on armstrokes and breathing for both freestyle and backstroke.

At the end of class each day they get time on the diving boards! Corban had never been off a diving board before, but on Monday he walked right up with the other children and jumped!
He said he was a little scared when he was on the board but it was so much fun he wanted to do it again (and then 4 more times!).

Home Sweet Home

Chris flew home on Monday, but the children and I stayed at my parents for the rest of the week and came back late Friday.
We had a great visit, lots of fun playing on the lake, time with family, and the children being spoiled by Grandma and PaPa!

Corban had a seat with a view (we could actually see the Gulf lit up from the lights on all the boats working on the oil spill) and Abigail had plenty of Nilla wafers.

The magic words that finally put Corban and Abigail to sleep..."we are now beginning our descent into Fort Lauderdale." They both fell asleep for the last 15 minutes of the flight!

Happy Birthday Corban!

Corban James Pendrak is 4 years old!
