Marco Island

We rented a house through VRBO and had a great experience.  Everything was clean and it had full kitchen and laundry, pool table, bikes to use, all kinds of beach/pool supplies, a screened in patio with pool and hot tub, and dock on the water.  It was a 3 bed/2 bath and plenty of space for all of us, especially as the children still had all their virtual classes for the week.  One morning, 3 children were in zoom classes, Daddy was working remotely, and Mommy also had a zoom meeting all at the same time and we were able to all spread out and not disturb one another.

It was a crazy week - lots of fun, beautiful moments but after a couple days of waking up feeling yucky (body/head ache) we took COVID tests and all tested positive.

We were thankful to be staying in the house which allowed isolating from others while having access to full kitchen, pool, and space to spread out.  As we would all perk up in the afternoons and enjoyed all the fresh air and sunshine we extended our boat rental reservation so that we could continue to spend more time together but away from anyone else (going on boat rides and to remote islands instead of car accessible beaches).

AND on Friday, Asher slipped on the pool deck and got a big gash on his upper thigh.  Daddy took him to urgent care, they were kind, did x-rays and 3 stitches.  He was happy to hear it meant he didn't have to shower for 2 full days!

It was good to get back home (we had timed the trip to Marco Island with being away for Sukkot and because we were having the house tented/treated for termites!) and we are thankful that everyone is feeling well.

September 16th was Yom Kippur this year.  Abigail joined in the fast and we kept the day as a family.  That evening, we celebrated Abigail's birthday with cake and opening gifts!
The next day, we went out to a special lunch at Capitol Grille.
