Abigail's Birthday Weekend

To celebrate Abigail's birthday- Mommy and Abigail went away for a girl's weekend!  We stayed at the Embassy Suites in Deerfield Beach (where Mommy has stayed for the Rio Women's retreats before)- right on the beach.

We went to lunch near Deerfield Beach pier- sat outside on the patio overlooking the water and listening to live music!

 Then we walked over to the pier and all the way to the end (it was windy!)

When we got back to our room, a beautiful bouquet of flowers (surprise from Daddy!) were waiting!

Weather for the weekend was nice, but very strong current and advisories against swimming in the ocean.  We had fun walking along the beach and at the pool!

An evening of pedicures, pizza, laughter, and cake!

The next day we had some more pool & beach time before checking out of the hotel and going to Gumbo Limbo nature center- which had a nice long boardwalk, was on the inter-coastal, had lots of aquariums and animals to see, and a turtle rescue/rehabilitation facility!

We prepared for, carefully watched, and had a hurricane party with friends

(the Sherman family spent a night with us) but thankfully stayed out of the storm's path.

Went for a long family walk at the park- saw lots of turtles from the boardwalk and climbed to the top of the observation tower!

Hadassah has been doing well with the CC memory work and great job with her math and language arts!

Asher is doing a great job with his school work!  Math is his favorite (he's almost finished with book 1 already!), he is patient and doing well with his reading, and is having fun with the CC memory work.

Corban and Abigail are both doing super (A+ in all subjects for both of them this month!) and really enjoying Equip!

August dates

Corban and Daddy went on a super fun Father/Son weekend at Kanaukuk Kamps!

Abigail, Hadassah and Mommy did our date together this month!  We went to Target together where the girls got matching swimsuits and mermaid tail cover-ups and picked out a few things for a friend that is sick.  Then we went to get ice cream- we went to a nitrogen ice cream shop and got to watch them mix together all the ingredients and then freeze to make ice cream.  It was delicious!

Asher and Daddy ran an errand together and then came home to watch.... together (and Asher got ... pennies!)
