April Dates

Chris and I went to MODS 'Wine, Spirits and Culinary Celebration'

and Jack & Jill's 'Flip Flops on the Rooftop'

Abigail and I went on a date to the Young At Art museum!  

We spent most of our time in the Alice in Wonderland section,

made bracelets for Abigail in the recycle art room, 

and rented Alice in Wonderland to watch at home!

Corban and I went on a bookstore date to Barnes & Noble!  

He opened doors and held my hand, we shared a hot chocolate, looked at all kinds of games and toys, read a couple books together, and he got to pick out one book to bring home.

Books of the Bible

As a part of Corban's Bible curriculum (My Father's World 1st Grade), 

this year he learned the order of the books of the Bible and something about each book.

He is also making a timeline of Biblical events

and has a Bible notebook, where he illustrates and summarizes the stories after reading them.

Memory Master

This year, Corban wanted to be a Memory Master through his Classical Conversations program!  This is a goal which requires all the material for the year to be fully memorized by the student and recited to parents, his tutor and then tested by his director.  
With 24 weeks of NEW information (only some of the Math was repeated from last year) 
and again being the youngest student at his school to test, 

Corban is a Memory Master!  

We are so proud of him and this big accomplishment!

In his weekly class he also studied drawing techniques, music theory and tin whistle, artists and classical composers, participated in science experiments, and gave oral presentations!

March dates

Abigail and I had a pottery painting date 
at Joe Picasso's!  She decided on a pre-made piece (she chose a princess shaped piggy bank), picked out paint colors, and then we painted (each area had to be done 3 times with drying in between).  
Abigail liked the sparkly colors and had fun with the painting.  I helped with the more detailed areas.  She added her name across the front of the dress and I wrote "& Mommy" with the date on the bottom.  

A few days later, we went back to pick up her princess (after they had fired it in the kiln).

Abigail and I also went to a mother/daughter Tea Party hosted by her ballet studio!  

It was a fun time to get dressed up, sip tea, eat little flower shaped sandwiches and the girls made hats (Abigail said they were too little and so she made one for Hadassah).  

Corban and Daddy had a day at the museum date!  Corban choose the science museum and while there they watched the IMAX movie Flight of the Butterflies in 3D. 

Chris and I also went on a date! We got to celebrate with friends at their beautiful wedding and reception.

'Dassah

30 pounds
35 1/4 inches
Hadassah says her name is "'Dassah" and she is "2" and she is a "big girl"!

Her vocabulary seems to grow everyday with a new word 

and she is putting words together to make short sentences.  

She loves playing with "Por-ban" and "Ag-gail" and trying to do whatever they do.    

She now sits facing forward in he car seat, still sleeps in her crib, 

takes one long afternoon nap (or somedays 2 short naps with one in the morning), 

and is wearing pull-ups (or nothing when we are at home!) as she continues potty training.  

Hadassah is funny and likes to do silly things- making faces and her own jokes.  

She has a sweet little voice and a big deep laugh!

She loves her baby dolls and "Mel-mo" is her favorite character.  

She likes to run and play outside and go swimming.  

Hadassah likes to stack Legos and do puzzles.
She likes to color and paint pictures.   

She says her favorite color is purple and calls all princesses "White" for Snow White.  

She will pretend to be a puppy and crawl on the floor and gently pull my clothes, 

or a baby and fake cry and ask me to hold her, 

and at dinner last night she told us she was a tiger and started roaring!
