Self Soothing?!

Abigail has started sucking her thumb (when she was first born it was her wrist, then it was her fingers and now she has figured out just her thumb!) on her left hand and holding her hair with her right hand as she is falling asleep. But sometimes she'll suddenly cry because she has pulled her hair and just doesn't understand why anyone would be so mean!

Heat Wave

I know its December and winter...but with highs in the 80's all week it sure doesn't seem like it in Orlando!

We've been spending more time on our back porch. Corban even requested lunch and dinner out there yesterday!

Corban went with us for Abigail's check-up on Tuesday and was very excited to find out that he is now 3 feet tall (and 30 pounds)!

Little Sister

Wedding Bells

Saturday we went to a wedding in Winter Haven (one of Chris's cousins). We all had a great time and Corban was very excited when he saw the "princess" (Missy, the bride)!

When Corban figured out that you have to sit still at weddings he decided that the big wooden boat nearby with a boy about his age to play with was much more exciting!

Corban's friend (Jackson) was also at the reception and they had a great time "dancing" but they were nothing compared to the bride and groom's first dance (choreographed to Thriller!!!).

Shiny Happy People

big blue eyes and cute toothless grin!

All aboard

Corban got a train set from Aunt Jenn and Uncle Mikey that has been soooo much fun to play with! We decided to use a gift card from Uncle Randy to get a train table for Corban's room and yesterday Chris and Corban put it together. Over the last month Corban has begun to do more imaginative "make-believe" play (as I type he is next to me alternating the laundry basket being a bathtub and a boat!). With his train set he plays throughout the day pushing the train on the tracks and talking to and for the little people. checking out the box

Watch out Ben & Jerry!!

Corban helped me make ice cream tonight!

excited about getting started!
Martha and Gary gave us "thin mint" candies (not like the girl scout cookies, more like Andes mints), so we decided to make Mint Chocolate Ice Cream. Chris and I are going to try a bowl now, Corban's in bed already so he'll have to wait until tomorrow!

Push-ups

Abigail prefers lying on her back or sitting up (so she can look at everything), but she still does some "tummy time" everyday.

Corban wanted to be a part of picture time (it was on his bed after all!)

Thankschrisanukkah

Sunday we went to First United Methodist Church (where Gary is pastor) and then had a big thanksgiving meal! As promised, here are some great family pictures!!

Friday evening Chris and Michael helped Gary harvest honey from some of his hives.

Corban made a new friend (Corian)
and they had fun playing together.

Great-Granddaddy and Great-Granny

We went to Granddaddy and Granny's for a few days for a second Thanksgiving with Chris's family.

Saturday night Chris and I went to the movies with SY, Lynn, Jenn, and Michael, while Corban and Abigail stayed at the house for some time with Grandmother and Grandpa!

Great-Granddaddy showing Corban the little tackle box full of lures just for him when he gets a bit bigger (Corban calls it his "tickle box").
Corban and Chris went out fishing with Granddaddy and Michael for a little while Saturday afternoon.

Vintage

Today, I remembered that packed away with lots of beautiful doll clothes that my Grandma made for me were some of my baby dresses.
I was so excited to try them on Abigail and she indulged me with a photo shoot!

she was full of smiles!
